Summing It Up

Camilla is FINALLY beginning to act normal again; she actually ATE breakfast this morning! My child hasn't eaten a full 3 meals in over a week! She's been teething, and our schedules have been out of whack since the week before Christmas (b/c of bad weather, illness, a funeral, the holidays). I am sure that both have contributed to her grumpiness, restlessness, pitiful behavior. She's a trooper though, and I've made sure to keep vitamins down her and lots of soy milk and juice.

While I was off work, and able to muster up the energy to "play house", I cooked my booty off; making any and every delectable dish I haven't had time to cook as of late. I made pot roast, homemade cookies, mixed berry cobbler, carne asade tacos, fresh guacamole, homemade gravy with biscuits and vegan sausages, french toast, rotisserie chicken....I'm losing track of it all; I was a cooking FOOL!

Wayne and I discovered something in all of that MEAT we were eating though. Despite the fact that we only buy free-range, organic meat from Earth Fare, we felt horrid the next day! It wasn't my cooking, though, mind you! ;)  We are just so acclimated to eating vegan "meats", because of Camilla, that when we eat animal flesh....well, it just runs our bodies down (and we feel like CRAP).

As a matter of fact, any time over the past month, I remember that I've felt horrid for DAYS after eating one meal of meat!

PLEASE, body, I will listen....if you don't make me give up sushi! I don't need the 4-legged or feathered creatures, but P  L  E  A  S  E don't make me give up muh sushi!  :)

Meat is expensive, but I like it too much to give it up completely. Maybe you can just give up certain meats and keep some in your diet?

Jennifer, that's pretty much what we're doing, but it just seems like every time we eat meat, we feel like crap after. Why would you want to eat something that's going to make you feel icky for DAYS after? ;)
