Last night, after Loli fell asleep, Wayne and I watched Valentine's Day. While I was excited because I was thinking that it was the horror movie, I quickly gained happiness that it was the comedy with a STELLAR cast. Julia Roberts, Bradley Cooper, Jessica Biel, Anne Hathaway....that's just a VERY FEW of the awesome stars to appear in this movie.
Love gained, love lost, love undiscovered....the movie started a bit slow, but the cuteness and witty comedy was just fluid enough to keep it above water. Only once did my heart actually ache, and it wasn't for our lead character, Reed Bennett (hopeless romantic and florist). But I'll keep that a surprise, because it's somewhat of a spoiler!
I MUST give props to Queen Latifah, and her last scene; it was probably one of the MOST hilarious in the entire movie. Make sure to watch through the credits too, because there are some GREAT cut scenes that make up a blooper reel.
Overall, the movie was "cute"; nothing super awesome....but again, I mention the AMAZING cast, and give my props to their breathing life into these characters. Had it not been these actors, I don't believe the movie would have been as great. LOVE to thank whomever cast Taylor Swift as the ditzy, high school senior-not only do we know she cannot perform as a musician, but now we know she SUCKS as an actress too! I wouldn't have paid for this at the theatre, and I may have even been disappointed had I seen it at the theatre (for the 10 bucks a ticket), but God BLESS Netflix! :) 3 1/2 stars out of 5.
****HEY GREY's ANATOMY FANS-My LOVE of the movie-McDreamy STILL plays a cheating arse of a man, and McSteamy is in this movie too.....BUT, I won't go there! :) ****
