The Power of....

Settled on a tree branch
Aching to ride the breeze,
A solitary, lonely leaf
Dreams of better days.

Thinking of times past,
A giggle tickles its thoughts;
Other leaves twirl and play,
But our leaf merely waits.

"Come and dance!"
Cry the others with glee.
"No, not yet, not me."
And our leaf dreams away.

Sitting on a tree branch,
A lonely leaf waits....
Here it comes, the sunshine,
And our leaf takes flight.

Dancing, floating, ever so lightly,
The leaf drifts and soars.
It twirls and swirls,
Embracing the soft wind.

Colors of amber, yellow, and fire
Are the coat of our beautiful leaf.
Pride swells in our little friend,
As it dances up, up, and away.
