Can you feel it in the air?

The nights are becoming crisp. When the breeze kisses your skin, you get a chill. The wind carries leaves off their branches, and gently floats them down to the earth below....yes, it's FINALLY feeling like Autumn!

That nastolgic feeling is eating at me: opening up the fireplace, decorating the house for the holidays, having friends over to sip wine and eat stew! This is my favorite time of year.

Maybe it's because the days are shorter, and the nights are colder. This forces you to interact with people in your home (not that Wayne and I force anything). I love starting a fire, popping a bottle of wine, and listening to music.....and just talking. There have been times in the past, when we've just cuddled up and stared at the fire.

I'm super excited about the holidays now, moreso than I've ever been. Before Wayne, the holidays were kind of depressing; I hated having to deal with my mother, but I did for Sky. Later, it was just the stress of driving to Tennessee. We would have to split time between my family and Wayne's. I think we spend MORE time in the car than visiting!

OH, but now....now we have Loli, and the holidays are going to be spent AT HOME! Our home, where we can start new traditions for our family! Yes, we'll travel up for Christmas to see everyone, but it will be the weekend before (most likely). I want Camilla to be at home on Christmas Eve, so we can tuck her into bed before Santa comes. She will be there for Christmas morning, to awake to gifts under the tree....and she'll have time to play with them, instead of being thrown into a car for 3 hours to spend 1 hour with so-and-so, before being tossed into the car again to see the next relative. And let's not forget the 3 hours back home, before she can even get comfortable!

Anyway, I got off on another topic that I didn't even mean to get into! For now, I just love that I can enjoy the leaves changing; all those colors dancing in the breeze......

If you get a chance, visit a national/state park while the leaves are changing! It makes for a spectacular road trip, plus you get to see this:

And this:

And maybe even this:

But only if he's in a gooood mood!
